UPDATE ON HE PAY 2015-16

UCU, Unite and EIS dispute meetings have concluded today. UNISON attended in an observer capacity.

The dispute process failed to reach a resolution. UCU, Unite and EIS remain in dispute and will be meeting with their appropriate national committees during the coming weeks to determine next steps.  As a Branch we will keep you updated on any developments.

BRANCH AGM HELD ON 16 MARCH 2015

The Branch Committee would like to thank members who were able to attend the AGM.

Guest speakers; Oliver Coppard Labour Candidate for Sheffield Hallam Constituency and Leoni Sharp UNISON Regional Officer addressed members.

Prior to the AGM business a networking lunch was held which gave members the opportunity to chat to branch officers, stewards and workplace representatives.

Having a union representative in the workplace can reduce employees’ stress levels, improve their work-life balance, and increase their well-being overall, according to academic research.
The paper, Union representation, collective voice and job quality: an analysis of a survey of union members in the UK finance sector, showed that respondents’ perceptions of job quality were more favourable in organisations where an onsite representative was present.
